You\u2019re the new kid on the block, and you see all these people from afar who look like they\u2019re having way too much fun. Naturally, you\u2019d like to meet them and share all the funny jokes. The question is, how do you go about joining this community?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Last week, during our monthly #mibchat, we discussed how to become part of a community as well as build your own. Here are the major headlines.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>What defines a blogger community?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s all nice and dandy to want to become part of a blogger community, but the first step is actually knowing how to recognize one. It\u2019s usually fairly straightforward if you want to join a formal group. Most of the time it\u2019s only a question of filling out a form\u00a0or sending an application, but what happens when the boundaries aren\u2019t clearly defined?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-3284 alignleft\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2013-11-11 at 11.04.12\" src=\"http:\/\/crememag.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Screen-Shot-2013-11-11-at-11.04.12.png\" width=\"292\" height=\"179\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The process can definitely be a bit trickier, but here are\u00a04 steps that will help you join your group of choice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>1) Leave comments on their blog posts, respond to the tweets and share their articles. After a while, people will naturally reciprocate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>2) Attend events. You can associate your name to a blog by writing a post for them and vice versa. It\u2019s a great way to build a network.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>4) Stay abreast of the news. What are the latest campaigns bloggers are working on? What are the latest trends? Bloggers aren\u2019t any different. We want to have a support system; find people who relate to our various challenges, help us out through the tougher times and can celebrate with us!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And luckily, unlike high school, the groups aren\u2019t limited to nerds, jocks and popular kids.
