For the start of the school year, social medias have brought many new features and changes. We start with Instagram and Youtube, throwbacks, evolutions, we will explain all the changes to you in this article!

In one of our Instagram posts, we talked about the latest new features in the app. Finally, a rollback is planned for some of its features, and more options are coming soon.

The long-awaited return of photography

Having adopted and prioritized the Reel format for a few months seems to have been a mistake for Instagram. To compete with the new TikTok trend, the picture leader has completely changed its algorithm and values original content, but above all the immersive short video format, as well as recommendations.

The application finally returns to this change and responds to the general request of its users: to favor photo posts again.

Although the short video format is extremely popular today, Instagram users want to find the publications of their subscriptions and especially the historical format of the platform: photography.

A wish expressed by the “make Instagram, Instagram again” movement initiated by photographer Tati Bruening, accusing the platform of copying TikTok too much. This movement very quickly gained momentum and was quickly formalized with a petition, shared by many influencers and personalities such as Kylie Jenner for example. In total, more than 314,000 signatures have enabled Instagram users to make their will heard.

This wave on social media made it possible to trace the information to Adam Mosseri, CEO of Instagram, who recently announced a step back to find the personal touch of his application.

The Affiliate Program Says Goodbye to Creator Marketplace

Last summer, Instagram introduced its new affiliate program, facilitating collaborations between influencers and brands and the compensation part.

A program reviewed in another format. Finally, the application wants to focus on a new feature that American influencers have been testing for several months: the Creator Marketplace.

With a system very similar to Creator Marketplace available on TikTok, it is a tool that will allow brands to quickly find influencer profiles based on several criteria. There is also the possibility of managing partnerships with certain creators and learning more about the behavior of its audience.

The affiliate program came to an end on August 31, while the new marketplace remains in the testing phase for US brands for now.

The possibility of programming your posts and Real?

From the beginning we have been talking about throwbacks from Instagram, but will there be any real novelty? Yes, Instagram wants to innovate and always make the work of content creators easier. This time the socia media will make it possible to program its next publications directly on the app. No date has yet been announced for the release of this option, but we know in advance that it is more than expected.

Instagram is not the only application to offer us change. Youtube is also a platform that offers new tools when it comes to developing its content. The reason behind that is to adapt to its audience preferences.

New features to facilitate the creation of Short videos

Just like Instagram, for a few months Youtube has been competing in its own way with TikTok, with its version of short videos: the Shorts.

A new format, much appreciated by Youtubers and their communities, which makes it possible to renew the usual formats of the application and give a boost to content creators.

Studio Editor allowed content creators on Youtube to be able to edit their videos directly with this tool, and for free. Youtube decides to upgrade it to make it compatible with its new format, inspired by TikTok: the Shorts.

Now it is also possible to create a Short from a classic video directly on Youtube, while adding royalty-free music.

Management and analysis even more developed for Youtube creators

Youtube decided to add new features to allow the creators of its platform to create with more simplicity. Also, allow new people to get started.

A tool for easier content management, accompanied by several new analysis tools that are more detailed and more efficient than before

Conclusion

Consumption habits are changing and so are the offers. The TikTok platform, among others, is revolutionizing the content format and forcing other platforms to adapt in order to continue to capture the attention of Internet users. A strategy that works for some, like Youtube and its Short format, but less appreciated by Instagram users who no longer find themselves in the evolution of the social media.

Many new features are emerging, great opportunities for brands to appropriate new codes to meet their visibility challenges. Made In is here to bring you its expertise in social networks, and allow you to optimize all your campaigns!
