First of all, we wanted to wish you a Happy New Year 2015! May this year bring you love and success. We are still in the early weeks of 2015, and New Year rhymes with resolutions and new start (well, kind of). At Made in Blog, we think that your blogs deserve the best success. For that, throughout this year, we will give you tips and tricks to bring your blog to the next level.
Today’s theme : newsletters! Yes, we know it… Writing a newsletter, in addition to the articles on your blog and the management of your community, can take some time. So you’re probably wondering, what’s the point of having a newsletter and is it worth the effort? Here are 3 main reasons why you should take the time to consider it:
1 – Having a newsletter brings you traffic. A newsletter should not simply be used to share the latest articles from your blog even if it brings you trafic. Some readers will visit your blog once and then, because they forgot, will not come back. Suggesting them to register to your newsletter is a way to bringing them back so that they become one day, loyal readers of your blog ☺
2- A newsletter is also a way to build a relationship with your readers and to provide more information than blog posts. How ? By sharing exclusive content while following your editorial line. You have a fashion blog? Why not submit an interview with a new designer. A travel blog? Post a video that makes you want to travel. You are foodie bloggers? Share your best restaurants of the month. Are you creative? Offer to your subscribers some tutorials or creations that they can print. Take this opportunity to add personal messages and take inspirations from the latest news of your industry. Add to all of that, your latest articles and links to your social media so that your audience can follow the latest news on your blog.
3 – Monetization opportunity. You can monetize your newsletter via a banner (provided that you have many readers registered) or through affiliate links. Almost all brands offer programs like this to bloggers. This allows you to share products that you have tested or that you like. If any of your readers buys, you earn a commission. Be careful to not turn your newsletter into an e-shop. This should be done sparingly so that it is beneficial and interesting for you and your readers.
