I have a confession to make : Gwen Stefani is my ultimate woman crush.
Not only is she an awesome singer, songwriter and band leader (I mean, who doesn’t love No Doubt?), she’s also a businesswoman, a mentor, a fashion designer and a mom! Need I say more? Here’s more anyway : She’s beautiful, has amazing style and she’s just BADASS.
Obviously, I’m not the only one who’s in love with Gwen’s overall genius and attitude, because when uber-popular cosmetics company Urban Decay announced that they were releasing a limited-edition eyeshadow palette in collaboration with her, the whole wide world just went…
This sh*t is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S!
The Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani palette (#UDxGwen) will be available in stores starting November 22nd, so, in the meantime, let’s take a look at what people are saying about it…
It’s on October 29th at The London Hotel in West Hollywood that Urban Decay officially launched their new palette in a relatively intimate setting. Of course, Gwen was present for a meet-and-greet with her fans and distinguished guests, among which was spotted famous YouTuber and makeup artist Patrick Simondac, a.k.a. PatrickStarrr!
L.A.-based beauty and fashion blogger Sona Gasparian (or Simply Sona) also attended the UDxGwen launch party, and she got to come home with the goods! She chose to feature the palette on her “Fall Favorites” article, where she states : « It was so cool to see Gwen Stefani in person, and this palette totally reflects who she is – edgy and cool. »
Speaking of Fall Favorites, here’s another influential YouTuber who felt the need to rave about Gwen’s wicked eyeshadows : The lovely Kandee Jonhson! She’s so awesome that she chose to film this video in her pajamas and without any makeup on her face, because even though she’s a pro at it, she doesn’t really need makeup to look pretty.
All of this is really exciting, but what does this makeup actually look like once applied?New York blogger Keiko Lynn used it to recreate the classic Gwen Stefani look : A natural smoky eye complete with black eyeliner, defined lashes and bright red lips. Superb!
On the other side of the big pond, straight from Paris, French blogger Sophie from Venus is Naive decided to make an even bolder statement by choosing darker shades… And the result is just as stunning!
Lastly, just a few days ago, quirky beauty maven Kristen Leanne posted a video on her YouTube channel, KristenLeanneStyle, in which she talks about how cool, versatile and high-quality Gwen’s palette is while breaking down every one of its 15 shades. In her own words : « I have to say that I’m really impressed with the palette! The colors just work together perfectly, and you have a great variety of matte, satin, glittery and metallic. »
