All Natural Skin Care Routine

If you’ve let your skin routine slip during holiday season and you want to get back on the bandwagon, we’ve got you covered. Remember the lavender essential oil you bought a few months back and never used? Now is the time! Go a step further by switching to all-natural, homemade skincare products.

Here is a 5 step DIY skin care routine to keep your skin healthy all year long!

1. Remove Makeup & Impurities

Remove any makeup or impurities before anything else. A well-loved —and affordable!— option in the natural beauty world would be coconut oil with a hint of water. However, as emphasized by Kristin from Live Simply, not every skin type fares well with a coconut-based skin care. If you need an alternative, try this recipe:

3 Tablespoons of witch hazel (preferably with aloe vera)
2 Tablespoons of nourishing oil (for example, jojoba, sweet almond, avocado, apricot kernel, or olive oil)

2. Clean

Katie, natural beauty aficionado from Wellness Mama, recommends using raw organic honey (to which you could add lavender oil and vitamin C powder) to cleanse skin. Honey has anti-bacterial properties, and is milder than soap. Wash off with warm water.

3. Tone

1/4 Cup apple cider vinegar

For Sensitive Skin (homemade rose water)
