Having a sip in Montreal : 5 neighborhoods, 5 drinks

DieuDuCiel

Even though the terrace season is coming to an end, there’s no excuse not to enjoy the many places Montreal has to offer for a time out with your friends or significant other.

After all, it’s not by chance that Quebec’s metropolis is renowned for its everlasting festive atmosphere !

Here are five exciting suggestions if you’re in the city and need a refreshment, whatever the neighborhood.

1- A fruity vodka in Saint-Henri

The new Ôzeu & O’bœuf on Notre-Dame street serves a tasty breakfast menu in the morning (Ôzeu) and, every night, substitutes its green plants for chandeliers for a most intimate atmosphere as it transforms into a pub-restaurant (O’bœuf). Marie-Noel from Urbaine City loved their Tourbillon aux framboises, a delicious mix of vodka, raspberries and lemon juice.

2- A drop-dead good beer in the Mile-End

If microbreweries are swarming the city, the most notorious one (and best, according to the guys of The Main) is located at the corner of Clark Street and Laurier. At Dieu du Ciel !, quality and distinction don’t exclude accessibility. Their flagship beer, called Péché Mortel (mortal sin), is brewed with a touch of coffee : perfect to drink all night without getting tired.

3- An original margarita in the Village

Montreal’s gay district has never been as nice and lively as it is today. Perhaps it is to better seduce their target customers, or to attract new ones, or maybe a little bit of both… In any case, new trendy places abound and Laure, a.k.a. Une Parisienne à Montréal, loves the peaceful vibes of the Grenade bar, where you can cool down while sipping a little kiwi margarita.

4- A bloody caesar in Rosemont – La Petite-Patrie

Real Canadian classic, the bloody caesar is prepared in all kinds of ways in Montreal restaurants. Marie-Christine from The Foodie MTL has roamed the city to find her favorites and stopped at Brutus on Beaubien Street, which is every bacon lover’s paradise. How appropriate is a delicate rose made out of bacon to embellish your drink ?

5- A glass of bubbles in the Old Montreal

The Old Port of Montreal isn’t just for tourists ! It’s also the perfect place when you feel dashing or a bit… bubbly. In fact, Fannie and Gabrielle from Les Petites Manies were in a fancy mood when they went to discover La Champagnerie and their specialized champagne bar.
