How To Choose Awesome Blog Posts’ Titles

Move, I am coming!

If you came across this article, it means that among the heavy mass of information that your browser, your feed reader or even your social networks have put at your disposal, this title has somehow caught your attention.

Because we live in a cruel world and that among all this noise, even if our article is absolutely brilliant and is the best article of all time, if no one has read it because its title isn’t great, it’s a shame!

We must therefore find ways to put together a title that will bring you the maximum amount of visitors.

Here are a few tips to do so:

Choose your keyword

Use as many keywords as possible in your titles, keywords that are likely to have been typed into search engines by the greatest number of people. Read over your article and ask yourself what keywords users would type into Google to get to this information. Then do a little research to find out which words are the most used by Internet users for their research.

Choose the order of your keyword

Place the most important words at the beginning of your title. Yes, people are impatient and so are search engines.

Be concise!

Make sure to use less than 60 characters. Users don’t read but scan the information, everything goes very quickly these days and if your title does not go straight to the point, Internet users will simply walk away.

Create a sense of excitement about reading your article!

If your title looks like “5 reasons to measure your boogers”, chances are that many people will want to read the article just for fun! It’s the same process as the videos you see on Facebook with titles such as “See what he dared to do at his wedding”.  And very often, we are forced to “like” before even having seen anything… (sic). Please note that you must have good and interesting content behind your intriguing title. Your article must be at equal to the sensational title, otherwise you risk losing your readers if you don’t come up to their expectations.

Put A Capital Letter At The Beginning Of Each Word

This will allow your title to be more quickly visible among all other competing titles.

Use words that will catch the attention.

All words don’t have the same value and some words raise some special interest and make you want to read more. This is particularly the case of words such as “Tips”, “How”, “Excellent”, “Taboo,” “Secret”, “Win”, “Best” and of course “Free”.

Once you have learnt these basic rules, writing a title and a first paragraph that will boost your visits will be a piece of cake!

It’s your turn now!
